For over 50 years Atkinsons have been selling fencing and timber products and have gained a reputation for the quality and reliability of their range.
From humble beginnings - founder George Atkinson actually began by selling firewood! - Atkinsons has grown into a high-tech manufacturing and service organisation using the latest cutting equipment and employing a workforce of up to 100.
From firewood and fences Atkinsons have developed their range to incorporate a vast array of fence styles, as well as trellising, gates, pergolas and decking, cabins and summer houses in fact
There’s not much that Atkinsons cant supply fit and manufacture.
Erecting the fence
As part of the provision, Atkinsons offer a full fitting service, for fencing, decking, gates and garden buildings. Atkinsons currently set upwards of 80,000 fence posts every year and have earned an enviable reputation for the quality of service they provide. Each job is surveyed and planned with the customer and because we manufacture most of our products we can tailor each job to the customer’s requirements. We offer a full service and will take down and remove all existing fences and hedging. We are also fully insured against damages to services.
Protecting the environment
To help conserve resources and protect the environment Atkinsons ensure that hardly a single wood chip is wasted - all the sawdust and wood chips are recycled and used in various applications from animal bedding to garden mulch and riding schools.
Atkinsons are also one of the major users in the country of ECO Fencing  which is made from 92% recycled u-pvc windows and doors, it has a greater tensile strength than concrete posts and is exactly the same on both sides, perfect for a shared fence and the wood grain style will never need painting.
Focusing on the customer
Atkinsons is a family run business and the directors have always placed the customer at the forefront of the operation. All our sales staff have worked their way through the business and many of them spent several years on the tools so they have first hand knowledge and experience.
Manufacturing and Quality
Atkinsons design and manufacture all their own fencing and ensure that only the best quality materials are used. We cannot emphasize how important it is to compare “apples with apples” as there are many inferior and copy cat products on the market that will simply not last as long as a genuine Atkinsons product. We also pressure treat all our products on site at the Castleford factory again ensuring that the job is done correctly and that the Atkinsons quality is maintained.
