Glulam stands for glued laminated timber — an engineered wood product made by bonding together multiple layers of timber (called laminations) with high-strength structural adhesives.
Unlike a single piece of timber cut from a tree, glulam is manufactured to create a stronger, straighter, and more dimensionally stable structural member.
