Spring cleaning and storage solutions: Made Easy
Spring cleaning can be a task and a half at the best of times, and at the worst…
Well, with Atkinsons, that’s not something we want you to concern yourselves with. In fact, here’s our ethos: if there’s a problem place in your home or garden, there’s a solution to it, and we can provide you with said solution. Solution to spiralling spring cleaning? Storage.
Next task after that? Look for the product that suits you, your budget, and your home and garden. Whether that’s a place to put the things that’s piled up into doom-piles, an area to put tools away, or even somewhere for sitting in, storing yourself away from the nature that’s grown awry (like ivy taking over!): Atkinsons can help. We have something for everyone.
The First Simple Storage Solution: The trusty garden shed h2 >
Atkinsons emphasises the garden shed, often used for multiple-purposes; because, it’s such a reliable, robust, and realistic option.
The shed is an affordable product you can get, whether you have a couple hundred pounds to spend, or a couple of grand. Sheds and their spaces cater to all.
Plus, the garden shed is a space people have even used in the ways log cabins are now replacing and recreating (now with electrical packages and insulation!). Sheds are great for storage. And sheds – no matter the pre-set name of the space, like: Security, Aysgarth Premier, Nidderdale, or Pickering, can all be multipurpose places.
So, once you’ve sorted through the likes of your family art and things, maybe the shed can be the archive. Where you store away the seesaw, tunnel, slip ‘n’ slide tarpaulin; chairs and table, sand pit and ball pit; paddling pool, tennis set and squash set, cricket set and golf set; and, a parachute, and pens and paper, and nature saved for later and… A Never-Ending Story. A list of belongings as long as a piece of string (which must be a reeeaaalllyyy long piece of string).
Or maybe the shed will be your shelter space: after you’ve cleared the home & garden, and gone down the more minimalist route.
And if minimalism is your thing, maybe a Tool Tidy Shed is the way to go.
So how about the Tool Tidy Shed? Well, this kind of shed can be used for other things (like storing away bicycles), but primarily, the Tool Tidy Shed is for tidying tools away. Tools like the garden rake, hoe, wooden sweeping brush, trowel, spade, garden gloves, weed killer, hose-pipe, pitch-fork, garden shears, secateurs, pruning shears, grass trimer, hammer, screwdrivers, the level-er and much, much more.
Where in days gone by you might’ve put a thing with spikes, edges, or a bottle with a caution sign – in – the garden shed: But… the Tool Tidy Shed is the near fool-proof place to put these things, as above. And as Atkinsons prides itself in being a family-run business, for your family’s safety and satisfaction, we’d highly recommend the Tool Tidy Shed for a full-works, family-friendly spring clean.

And, after the spring-clean, it's time to throw the rest away
The rubbish and packets and tins and tatty things. Which is where your bins come in. But, when hosting your garden parties and such, you don’t want your bin flapping and fumigating the air where your BBQ is cooking. Where you’re cooking and serving up good food, you want that funky smell elsewhere.
You want that hidden away. Which becomes possible: when you place your bins into a bin store.
And what else do we have for the logs you’ll burn for a fire, with a few of you around it (for twilight hours, of your gatherings…)? A log store!
Both: the bin the store and the log store are affordable to many people, and both are brilliant places to keep the giblets and odds and ends, to keep the excess out of the way.

But, some may ask...
…What if I have storage solutions already that I just need to restore and repair?
That’s not a problem at all.
Atkinsons can advise you on this.
Not only do we have fully formed products on offer, but we also sell timber planks, tools, and bits to help with quick fixes.
The timber, tools, treatment products and bits can be used for larger-scale projects too. We’d recommend reading up on the properties of the timber you choose, and speaking to an Atkinsons expert in advance. But we have done, and we still do encourage the creativity. Because, we love seeing the end results. Results, that… in the future… we’d love to showcase on here.
*There will also be blogs discussing timber properties and wood-treatment products in the future. These are currently under construction with our media team, sales, and experts working together. We’re taking this approach because we want to give you the most accurate and supportive advice we can. Keep a look out for these blogs as they appear on the site.*

FAQs h2 >
Where do I go to get these items?
You can order these items, direct to you, through the website. Please note: many items may come flat packed for safe transportation. If you require them erecting, Atkinsons can help, but please contact us in advance. That way we can ensure your product, service, and delivery is of the highest possible standard. Alternatively, visit one of our showrooms, and pick up your product in person.
If I get problems with the timber, what should I do?
Yes. An understandable question. The items are constructed from timber: made sturdy and solid, but they do require maintenance and upkeep. In order to do this correctly, Atkinsons recommends picking up products like wood preservers, protectors, stains, varnishes etc. * However, when buying said products, please read the properties and directions labels (located on the items’ packaging), to make sure you use the product as directed. To support customers with this, the media team have another blog underway, talking you through safe and correct usage of maintenance products.
Can I get all-in-one storage solutions?
Yes to this! Although it’s not been addressed in detail, Atkinsons have potting sheds and greenhouses and sunroom spaces (and more), all of which can be used for storage space.
Do you do delivery?
Yes. We offer delivery. Please ensure you type in the correct delivery address and the correct billing address. The form on the website, at checkout, will guide you through this process. Delivery cost is also relatively low for small items in the local area. For anything else, please carefully read your amounts at checkout. Any discrepancies, please contact us via the details on the website, or message through to our socials (Facebook and/or Instagram) where we will direct you to the correct department.
Can I get Atkinsons products fitted, or do I do it myself?
Yes. We can fit your products for you. Sometimes, as can be seen on the directed pricing at our showrooms, this is reflected in the cost. At other times, this is an extra cost and will need to be discussed in more detail. For example, if you choose a shed and we fit it in what we coin ‘Zone 1’ in the pricing, but you request ‘Zone 2 or 3’, the price of fitting will differ. Zones refer to proximity to your home, and may also relate to your nearest outdoor electrical outputs.
What options do I have to pay for this?
In-person-options: Debit or Credit Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and Cash. Online-options: Debit or Credit Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, Take 3 payments Klarna, PayPal and Pay later.
