Welcome to Atkinsons' Top Ten Lists - The beginning
Hello, all.
Welcome to Atkinsons’ Brand New Top Ten list (soon to be lists!).
This very first one will take you through a list of the top ten outdoor buildings, which, Atkinsons have on offer.
We’ll show you what each one offers, what prices they range from, and signpost links (within the text) to purchase them.
We’ll even give you a quick look at a few in a short video (see below), and show you in the future posts, how you might customise them: to your taste.
So, First Up... h2 >
We have…
This!
Yes, we’d like to welcome you to the Duncombe. Unlike the origin of its namesake, the dark valley, this one is bright and beautiful.
It’s a pretty popular choice, and here’s why:
- It comes as a corner building, one with an apex roof, or one made as a large complex
- It comes (as standard) with an EPDM rubber roof, with a 20-year warranty
- And it comes with a bunch of optional extras.
It’s an investment in your outdoor living space; a place where you can invest in yourself!

Coming in at number nine.
We took a step back from the outdoor buildings you go to rest your head. And we looked at one that offers a mixture of things for you. Yes, this is The Potting Shed. So-called, because we English folk love to potter about, moving, from one thing to the next.
On that note, here’s what The Potting Shed offers:
- A unique multipurpose space for storage and gardening.
- An area made airy, with a stable-style door, and windows that open (crucial!).
- And a heavy-duty framework build. I.e. a building built-to-last.
In short, if you need a space that offers you flexibility in your pottering about, then The Potting Shed is the one to go for.

At number eight.
We have put in a tried and tested by all product. It’s an outdoor building many of us have had in our lives for years upon years upon years. It is the Apex Shed. Often used for storage, but, often, so much more!
And why’s the Apex Shed so great?
- It’s often an incredibly affordable item
- It’s a space that’s made structurally sound
- And it’s been used in many ways over the many years.
The Apex Shed defies being defined by its status as a shed. It’s even been used by some of our customers as somewhere to house their animal friends. Magic.

In the number seven spot...
Atkinsons’ sunny and sweet sun rooms. Many of which can be viewed at our South Milford (in Leeds – Leeds postcode – LS25 5LF) showroom; our Leeds, Low Road showroom; and, they are sometimes available to view in our Castleford showroom (as well as our other plotted out spaces, in other places; but, please check before you travel to any of these sites – contact details can be found in our contact us section).
So what’s so great about our sun rooms?
- The sunrooms provide needed shaded space
- They often come with an EPDM roof as standard
- And they’re an all-year-round usable outdoor building.
Sun rooms are shelter spaces. Whether it’s sunny, blustery, or even a bit drizzly (and it won’t make its mind up, being typical British weather), it’s there for you. For your use.

Here at number six.
The outdoor buildings within the Helmsley range. We won’t lie, we like the name meaning and origins for this one. A clearing in the woods. It marks a place away from civilisation for a breath or two (or however long you spend within the building, once you have it, and who even are we to judge you?! No one. Just human like you… *Media team pinches themselves. Searching. For a pulse*).
If that sounds like your space, see here for more about it:
- Its design blends modern functionality with a timelessness, to its appearance.
- It’s safe for families, with a French door click system, on said door.
- And it’s a cost-effective, no muss no fuss, way to gain more space.
Plus, planning permissions permitting, if you want, we can put this one into that nook of nature. Away from the grind of life for a wee bit. That’s nice, isn’t it?

Then, in at number five.
A place for your little one to play in. This one is called Georgia’s Den. Why’s it called that? Well, at one point, a girl named Georgia had one just like it.
So what does Georgia’s Den offer your little one?
- It’s a 6′ x 6′ playhouse to house their imagination
- It includes a single door and a veranda
- And it has decorative, specialised ornate finishes.
It’s fit for your own Georgia, or George, or whoever. Rename it and have your child(ren) claim it: As their own.

At number four?
It’s Harvey’s Den. Another one named after a young one, simply called, Harvey. But he’s grown up now. So, it’s time for someone other young human bean to get this play den.
Here’s what Harvey’s Den offers:
- It’s a 10′ x 5′ space with a small set of stairs inside it.
- Those stairs lead up to a landing; a split-level play space
- And, it has a double door and a smaller door in the fitting, as standard.
It’s a great addition to your garden space, and, it will provide more immersive, imaginative play for your children. Far better than VR. It’s real and unreal as much as they choose it to be. It’s a space for their play, for their time, to help them grow into themselves.

Number three pick?
This is the Cotterdale: Complete: with a pavilion attachment. The meaning of the name of this one is debated. Cotter – the prefix – under revision. Dale??? That said, we like this: ‘the valley of the huts’. Picture it: simple living.
So how can this Cotterdale with a pavilion attachment fit into your outdoor living life? For simple living.
- It has two usable spaces: One for indoor gatherings and the other for alfresco dining.
- It has the option of an Apex shingled style roofing, or an EPDM roof on a penthouse styling.
- And it has a sturdy framework to it, fitted well in all areas (please contact directly regarding fitting).
To that end, for your outdoor living pleasures, the Cotterdale can be an asset in your outdoor living area. Somewhere you can use, as you choose to, all-year-round.

Coming in a number two.
It’s a place for your many hands and a half, set of friends. Yes, stables: for your horses. Or, they could be for other animal friends: pigeons, rabbits, guinea pigs, prize pups, sheep, roosters, and more (no, the list is not exhaustive!).
So what’s good about the stables from us here at Atkinsons?
- They’re made heavy-duty: to last; to be durable.
- Built for strength, stability, and long-term performance
- And they have galvanised fittings and fixtures on the locks and like: for that extra bit of safety.
So, yes, whilst stables are great for horses. For enthusiasts and owners. They’re also great for pet owners of larger flocks. And those who have farms. Needing to replace the spaces their animals eat, sleep, and live comfortability.

And now, for the number one spot.
Here, we have the Victoria. Why? Just because. This list is not an indefinite one where each item sits in the top ten. It’s just the top ten picks of what we have. It’s not exclusive. Nothing to do with Victoria being the last reigning monarch of the 19th century. That might be the namesake. It just made it into the top ten because it’s nice.
And here’s why the Victoria’s nice:
- It’s another sunny, shaded space – a summer house
- It has colour options for the shingled roof it has
- And as a standardised thing, when you order it online, it can come in two sizes.
So, here’s to all the outdoor buildings. And our Victoria, sitting in situ at the generalised number one spot. Though not indefinitely. Why? Well, now… we want to hear your thoughts. What do you think should be the top ten choices of our outdoor buildings (or other products) we do?
Let us know via one of our many social media spaces: Facebook, Instagram , TikTok, BlueSky, and LinkedIn.

FAQs h2 >
Why do you have a top ten list for this?
We made it to showcase a selection of the outdoor buildings we have on offer here at Atkinsons. We know how overwhelming it can be to make choices in such a busy, fast-paced world. So we’re here to help guide you. That’s it. No tricks.
Why did some Outdoor Buildings not make the list?
We’d love to showcase every single one we do. But that would mean you reading through reams and reams and reams. And this is a blog; it’s not Leo Tolstoy’s blogger’s space. Long story short, then, you decide what you’d like.
But why didn’t you put other choices on?
We made a Google Form, and a post or two, asking customers to choose the ones they might like to have for themselves. When we put the social media posts out, we heard nothing back. But it’s okay. You can tell us what products you like any time you choose to. In fact, for future blogs, the media team’s looking at creating blogs off the back of your customer reviews, to evaluate Atkinsons’ overall offerings it provides: in its goods and services: to its customers.
Okay, so where do I go to get one of these outdoor buildings?
You can purchase the product (among many others!) on our website. Or, you can visit us at one of our showrooms. And here, you can gain a full picture of exactly what you want, and our Atkinsons experts can help provide a top-quality VIP service for you.
Thank you. What payment options do you offer?
We have Klarna as a take-3 payment option, PayPal, Google Pay, credit and debit card on our website. At our showrooms, you can use card or cash. We don’t take American Express.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes. You’ll find the information about the exacting delivery details on each product listed on our website. As a general rule of thumb, most of the products in this category state a 4 week delivery period. This is because Atkinsons will manufacture, supply, and deliver the item. It takes time to render the product and get it past the quality assurance checks. We will inform you of any updates about your ordered items.
Okay. Thank you! Are there any other products you’d recommend?
Atkinsons have a lot more to offer. Yes. We can always show you other products we have available. Ones that give you a full-works finished outdoor living space. Ones that sit pretty in your outdoor building. Or, even ones for your flowers and climbing plants (and we do storage spaces too – see our storage blog!).
