1.8m 100mm x 75mm Sawn fence post
A 100mm x 75mm (4″ x 3″) sawn fence post is a standard, multi-purpose timber post. Widely used for general fencing and garden projects.
The “sawn” finish means the timber is rough-cut rather than planed smooth. This makes it a more cost-effective option than a “deluxe” post.
Key features
- Dimensions: Posts are 100mm x 100mm (4″ x 3″), with the finished size being very close to this.
- Pressure-treated : Sawn posts come pressure-treated, often to UC4 standard. This provides resistance to rot and insect attack for ground contact applications, ensuring a long lifespan.
- Finish: The rough-sawn finish is a utilitarian, robust surface that provides excellent grip for nails and screws.
- Versatility: They are used for a wide variety of tasks, from supporting fence panels to holding up post-and-rail fencing.
Common uses
- Panel fencing: The most common use is for holding up traditional fence panels, where the rough finish is not a concern.
- Post-and-rail fencing: These posts are strong enough to form the vertical supports for standard post-and-rail fences.
- Gate posts: They are suitable for light-duty garden gates.
- General landscaping: Ideal for less visible structural supports or for building raised flower beds.
